night shopLocated in the heart of Grand Rapids in the Eastown business district, City Knitting is open to serve knitters in central Grand Rapids and beyond. We offer fine yarn, tools, books, buttons, patterns and notions from around the globe. Anyone who knits, spins or crochets is welcome. Come in for a visit. Find your place in the comfy seating area that’s waiting for you. Create, relax.

Whether you are into the latest and hippest designs, or are looking for darling patterns for your grandkids, City Knitting has something for you. Please let us know how we can best serve you. Anyone who knits, crochets or spins will find a home here. Knitting Nights are open knitting for all, and there is usually a good crowd. But these are not the only times you may drop in and knit. Join us anytime.

Regular Hours

  • Tuesday: 12:00 noon - 9:00 Knitting Night
  • Wednesday: 10:00 - 5:00
  • Thursday: 10:00 - 9:00 Knitting Night
  • Friday: 10:00 - 5:00
  • Saturday: 10:00 - 4:00
  • Closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday mornings (except for scheduled class times)
  • Every 3rd and fifth Monday evenings, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm - Spinning Night - Woodland Weavers and Spinners
  • REDUCED SUMMER HOURS run from Mothers Day through Labor Day.

  • beginning Mothers’ Day, May 11 through Labor Day, September 1, 2008
  • Tuesday: 12:00 noon - 9:00 Knitting Night
  • Wednesday: 12:00 noon - 5:00
  • Thursday: 12:00 noon - 5:00
  • Friday: 10:00 - 5:00
  • Saturday: 10:00 - 3:00
  • Closed Sunday, Monday and all mornings except Friday and Saturday
